Career Clarity: 3 questions to answer before your next career move

Career confusion rarely comes from too few options — it comes from not knowing your strengths, the market and your own direction.

The most common question we hear is "which field should I work in?" The answer is not in a list of jobs but in three questions most people skip. This is the Career Clarity frame we use in every career guidance session.

Question 1: what strength do people pay you for?

Not what you enjoy, not what you studied — what people are willing to pay you to do. Look at the work that earned praise, the projects you were pulled into, and the problems colleagues walk over to ask you about.

Question 2: what will the market need in 3 years?

A valuable skill today may be worthless in three years. Read 20 job postings for the role you want and count the words that repeat most. That is the market talking to you.

Question 3: which direction is right for your whole life, not just your job?

The best position on paper may be the worst for your family, health or energy. The right direction must fit your season of life and real load — not only the title and salary.

Where the three circles overlap, you see the path

A strength people pay for + what the market needs + a direction that fits your life: where all three overlap is where to invest the next 12–24 months. That is what we help you find in Career Coaching.

Try this today
  1. Ask 5 people you work with what you are best at in their eyes
  2. Read 20 job postings and count the repeated words
  3. Write what life outside work should look like in 3 years — before choosing the job
