Everyone has the same hours, but not the same energy in each hour — match tasks to energy and life gets lighter instantly.

Classic time management asks "what, when?" but forgets "will I have energy then?" The Energy Matrix is a four-box grid that pairs your energy level with task importance, so your best energy goes to what pays back most.
Axis 1: energy level (high / low)
Observe one week: when is your mind sharpest and when does it fade? Most people have a 2–3 hour golden window per day; the rest is medium to low.
Axis 2: task importance (builds the future / just has to be done)
"Builds the future" tasks grow skills, income or long-term relationships. "Just has to be done" is email, errands, meetings without decisions.
Four boxes and the rules
Box 1 high energy + future-building: protect it fiercely, no interruptions · Box 2 low energy + routine: a perfect match, do it on autopilot · Box 3 high energy + routine: the biggest waste, move it out · Box 4 low energy + future-building: dangerous, important work comes out poorly — reschedule.
Adjust for your season
The golden window in your 20s may be at night; in your 40s it is usually early morning. Do not copy someone else's grid — observe your own and place Box 1 in your true golden hours.
