In loving homes, many things go unsaid — because there is no table safe enough to lay them on.

Parents say the children never talk to them; children say the parents never listen. Both are right, because most families have no space for important conversations. The Family Round Table is the format we use in Family Sessions — and families can continue it on their own.
Three rules of the round table
One: everyone speaks equally — use one object (a cup, a pen); whoever holds it speaks · Two: listen to understand, not to reply — no "but…" while someone else holds the object · Three: no punishment after the table — nothing said here is used against anyone later.
Three opening questions
"What has been the heaviest thing for you lately?" · "What do you want our home to be like a year from now?" · "What would you like me to help with — and what would you like me to stop?" These open the door at any age, from primary school to adulthood.
The role of the neutral facilitator
In early sessions a non-family facilitator helps keep the rules, translate what each side is trying to say, and stop the slide back into blame. That is our role in the 90-minute Family Session; once the family is used to it, they run it themselves.
End with one small agreement
Do not try to solve everything at one table. Close with an agreement everyone can keep for a month — "Sunday dinner together, no phones" — and schedule the next table. Repetition matters more than perfection.
